Counting the days...

There's just a few more days to get the November stamp of the month, Capture the Date S1211.  Here are some more ideas for using this versatile set:

This fun circle card, created by Georgia Hauglid, shows off the Dakota paper pack X7157B and black button brads found in the Black Mini-Medley Accents Collection Z1393.

Dawn Ross crafted this beautiful 5x7 card using the new Make It From Your Heart pattern book 9035.  This new publication features 16 2-page layout patterns , 2 single-page patterns, as well as 12 different card patterns.
Check out all the layers of accents Dawn used to highlight her focal point: layers of cardstock colors, burlap ribbon Z1760, a cute little accent cut with the cricut, all tied together with grey wool Baker's Twine Z1701.
She finishes her card with a couple of pearl badge buttons from the new Wrangler Assortment Z1780.

Creating some tags

The November Stamp of the Month, Capture the Date, isn't only for cards.  Check out these fun tags my card-swapping friend Joanne Coleman created.
So cute!  Wouldn't the clock idea be adorable on a new baby scrapbook layout?
I love the sponging detail on Tom Turkey...

Another Happy Birthday...

Who doesn't need more Happy Birthday cards?  The November Stamp of the Month, Capture the Date, is great for customizing them.  My card-swapping friend, Patricia Ervin, created this one.  She also used the Dakota paper packet X7157B, not only for the torn backgrounds, but also for the focal point image.  She cut 2 shapes from the background pattern and layered them with foam tape.  I love all the different textures of the paper!

Hurray!  I have figured out how to reorient my photos!  Now you won't have to turn your computer sideways  to view my cards, haha.

Scrapbook Club Tonight!

Tonight is Scrapbook Club in Quincy.  I love Scrapbook Club night!  I look forward to catching up with friends that I don't run in to other than this night, and it is so fun to create something pretty for my scrapbook.

I don't have photos of what we are making tonight, but I'll take them tonight and show you tomorrow.  For now, how about a peek at what we created last month...
The Moonlight paper pack X7161B was so fun to work with: the owl paper is so cute, and the different textures of purples worked well together.  I have some great pictures from our Trunk or Treat event at our church to add to these pages.
I had some fun with my cricut on this page.  The title, spider borders, and spider webs are on p. 76 of the Artiste cartridge booklet.   Add a couple of sparkles, and you have spooky eyes peeking out from the web!

I've already added cute photos of my grandbaby on this page.  I'll show you all these pages with photos soon; need to develop some pictures, but I wanted you to see what we do at club.  Each month we get together with a paper kit and some accents.  We create up to 6 pages in a night, add photos later, and watch our album grow throughout the year.  It's an easy way to get 72 pages done in a year's time, as well as learn new techniques and patterns.

There's room for you!  Just email me if you would like to visit our club.

Happy Birthday Card

My card-swap friend, Brigetta Giles made this Happy Birthday card to showcase the November Stamp of the Month, S1211 Capture the Date.  She really put her Artiste Cricut Cartridge to work on this card!  The feature stamp rectangle is cut from p. 47.  When you are looking at our stamp sets in the catalog, any shape with a red line around it means that the cricut will cut that shape for you.  The balloon image is from p.70 as well as the words "Happy Birthday".

See that the inside of the card has a fun little pocket for a gift card.  What birthday girl wouldn't love it?!  The card with pocket insert is a shape found on p.59, and "Birthday Girl" is on p. 69.

Do you like the houndstooth and wood-look background and texture papers?  They are from the Dakota paper packet X7157B.

Get creative today!

Have you given online scrapbooking a try? Why not? It's absolutely free and truly is easy to learn. There are no programs to buy and no committment. Follow the link on the side bar and set up an account...just name and password. Then start playing...

If you are a techy...Studio J is very intuitive. Just start working with it; you can always "undo"!

If you are NOT techy (that's me), there are great videos right there on Studio J to show you how all the features work.

Then if you love your layouts, simply purchase them. There are no memberships or minimum agreements. Purchase what you love! CTMH does ask for you to purchase atleast 4 layouts at a time, but you can also order up to 50 for the same great shipping fee.

Want to Studio J with me? I'll be at the Quincy Public Library December 10, 6-8pm. Bring your laptop and join me in the front study room.

Giving Thanks!

Welcome back!  Yea, I'm talking to myself.  I can't believe my last post was a year ago.  I have a busy busy life..and I love it.  That isn't going to change, so I'm determined to make blogging fit into my schedule.

There's lots going on in my creative home, and I want to share it with you.  This is my first week caring for my new grandson.  Isn't he adorable!  Yes, he is having a screaming fit, but that's how he gets me to do what he wants me to do, haha.  We're getting used to each other, and to taking bottles too.  There's a lot to learn.  I'm sure I'll be sharing happier photos soon.

Volleyball season is done.

Anna played volleyball for the first time this season.  She learned the sport quickly and earned "Most Improved Player" award on the Junior Varsity team.  Our team colors are purple and gold.  Do you like how she wears her school spirit?

There's also lots going on with Close To My Heart.  I'll be sharing lots of artwork with you this month, but I want to start with this month's Stamp of the Month Special.

This is such a great stamp set for cardmakers and scrapbookers.  It has four sizes of numbers!  There are so many times you need numbers, and now you can have just the right size.  You'll also enjoy the different "month" sizes and fonts.  Let me show you one of my favorite uses for all those numbers...
Place numbers onto a 3x3 block to create a customized background stamp.  Having all those different sizes makes it so interesting and fun!
Keep stamping, turning the block, stamping off the edges of the cardstock to create a one-of-a-kind background.
Cool, hunh?  Now add that to a card base with a few more creative touches...
Which do you like best...olive or pacifica?  I'm sure they'll both be a fun surprise in someone's mailbox!  I love this birthday saying from D1514 Just A Number, "Age is just a number...

I'll be back tomorrow with some more fun ideas for this stamp set.
